Itinerary
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Our first stop only an hour away is Inveruglas. A short walk will take us to the Pyramid shape viewing platform of Loch Lomond, where you will be able to take in the incredible scenery.
15 minute stop
Glencoe We will keep heading north, driving through Rannoch Moor, the largest bog expanse in the UK, and one of its most desolate places, featured in many TV shows and movies, such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We will then enter the Glencoe mountain range, where you will be able to appreciate the poignancy of the '3 sisters', the most photographed place in Scotland. We will have several photo stop opportunities along this segment of the tour, including at the 3 sisters.
3 x 10 minute photo stops
Castle Stalker A famous castle featured in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. We will stop at a viewpoint to take pictures.
10 minute stop
Oban A 30 minute drive takes us to Oban, hailed as the ‘Seafood capital’ in Scotland, with its own Coliseum and vantage point, a distillery where you can get a bottle of whisky bottled straight from the cask, and many different lunch options.
1 hour lunch stop
Kilchurn Castle We will then start to make our way back, stopping over at Kilchurn castle in Loch Awe, a great place for photos. It was a formidable fortress in its time, surrounded on three sides by water.
10 minute stop
Inveraray Castle
Next is the iconic Inveraray Castle, home and residence to the Clan Chiefs of Clan Campbell, also known as the 'Duke & Duchess of Argyle'. The grounds are open to the public, but there is a charge to enter the castle or the garden. If you don’t want to visit inside the castle, you can still freely explore the grounds, cafe and shop downstairs. The Castle itself is magnificent, its walls are a green hue and the castle is often referred to as the Emerald Castle.
