Itinerary
Jamie's ancestral family home, 'Lallybroch' is our first destination.
A 40 min drive brings us to the charming village of Falkland, this represents Inverness in season one, where Frank and Claire spend their honeymoon.
Less than 20 mins away is Balvaird Castle, home to Lord Lovat. He takes Julia as his wife and believes the child born was his and destined to be the next king.
An hour's drive takes us to a 'hidden gem' - the location is only known to a few. With sensible all weather shoes, it is a 25 min walk through a rugged glen to the iconic sheep bridge, where Brian and Ellen would meet in secret.
Doune Castle is the last attraction of the tour. This was featured as Castle 'Leoch', Jamie's uncles the MacKenzie's ancestral home. In the series, it is here we are introduced to Ellen, Colum and Dougal. Outside the castle is the secret tunnel which Ellen uses to 'sneak' out of the Castle undetected.
